As there are many regulations concerning the installation of stoves you can be safe in the knowledge that Mark 1 Installations are qualified to HETAS and building regulation standards. HETAS are the official body of solid fuel domestic heating appliances so you can be assured that your wood burning or multi fuel stove will be installed correctly and safely.

Heating requirements

All solid fuel appliances by law have to be fitted to comply with Part J of The Building Regulations, by a Hetas qualified engineer.

An insert stove

An insert stove is one designed to fit straight into a British standard 16” x 22” opening These are simple and easy to fit as well as being neat and tidy giving an output of up to 7kW. To install an insert starts at £150.00 up to approximately £250.00 if extra structural work is required.

Freestanding stoves

Freestanding stoves are as they sound they stand independently in the room usually on legs or with an integral log store with attractive black flue pipe visible in the room or as a feature in an Inglenook. To install a freestanding stove starts at £245.00 to £295.00

Hole in the Wall or Cassette

A cassette or inset stove is similar to the insert type but usually require a bespoke opening to be created and are raised slightly off the floor but not too high as to affect the efficiency of the stove. Outputs usually start at 5kW up to over 11kW for a spectacular large vista types.

Advantages

There are several advantages of installing wood , multi-fuel and boiler stoves, other than just being an attractive and cosy addition to your home. The main advantage being that wood and solid fuel burners are extremely economical and safer to the environment than other sources.
